Sullivan Super Service is committed to helping our local Pittsburgh and Allegheny County community, and especially those less fortunate members of our society.
For the past seventeen years we have helped raise monetary and food donations for the Greater Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Community Food Bank. This worthy cause is works tirelessly to eliminate hunger. In addition to our own contributions and events, we also encourage donations from our customers by way of a $25 coupon from us for those participating in our food drives too.
Every year our technicians collect canned goods and other nonperishable food items, as well as cash donations, that we proudly deliver to the food bank.
Each year, the company kicks off the food drive during September in honor of Hunger Action Month. The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is asking people to consider how they can help their neighbors lead a healthy life and ultimately promote a promising future for the entire community. The annual food drive was started in 2001 by Sullivan Super Service owner John L. Sullivan.
The Sullivan family has always valued the worth of a helping neighbor's hand and started our food drive because we wanted to show our neighbors that we're always there with a hand to help. For the past 17 years, our staff and customers have enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to our community and our team of Heroes enjoy making it easy for them. We provide a discount as our thank you for supporting this worthy cause!
Our staff will be competing amongst each to collect the most donations. The team who wins will enjoy breakfast cooked by the losing team and the individual who collects the most donations and cash will receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
This year, we hope to beat last year’s collection of food and monetary donations.
The food bank especially requests items needed for holiday dinners served in the upcoming months. These items include instant mashed potatoes, boxed stuffing mix, canned corn, beans and yams, canned cranberry, cornbread mix, instant or canned gravy, pie crust, mix and filling, canned fruit, cake, brownie and dessert mixes, 100% juice and themed paper products.
To encourage donations, Sullivan Super Service will thank its customers who make a donation with a coupon for $25 off their next service call. This year, the company hopes to beat last year’s collection of food and monetary donations and make 10,000 meals possible for Pittsburgh families. If the goal is reached, Sullivan Super Service will also make a $500 donation to the school in honor of their hard work.
Interested donors who are not in need of service may drop off donations at the business office located at 1350 5th Avenue, East McKeesport, PA 15135 or request a pick up by calling 412-271-0900.
